Merry Christ­mas to every­one. I had a very good Christ­mas myself. My par­ents got me a new LCD mon­i­tor, a wire­less router, a PVR card for my PC, and some other things. I guess that means my com­puter is coming back with me to Vir­ginia Tech.

It was good seeing my family, moreso my imme­di­ate family. It has been a while since I had seen my sister and her fiance. Also, I had not seen my mother and my father much since coming home for “Winter” break.

I do believe the crown­ing achieve­ment to my less-​than-​stellar first semes­ter had to be the fact that I made the Dean’s List with the min­i­mum GPA of 3.4. Great, now I have to do better than that for the rest of my col­lege career. It’s amaz­ing to me how little the finals actu­ally mat­tered to most grades. With one class, I either had to make a 99 or so to raise my grade; and a 50 some­thing to lower it. It was really just main­te­nance from the first few tests.

Good luck next year. Try not to be “min­i­mally excep­tional.”
