The Ball Was Intercepted
After multiple interceptions we managed to beat Ohio, forty-five to nothing. Hmm, I am noticing a pattern here…
The final score was 45-0.
1984
I started reading 1984 by George Orwell a few days ago and I am about halfway through and I have found some quotes worth keeping.
“Then for three dreadful days she did not appear at all. His whole mind and body seemed to be afflicted with an unbearable sensitivity, a sort of transparency, which made every movement, ever sound, every contact, every word that he had to speak or listen to, an agony. Even in his sleep he could not altogether escape her image.”
“If there was any relief, it was in his work, in which he could sometimes forget himself for ten minutes at a stretch.”
“It could not have been ten seconds, and yet it seemed a long time that their hands were clasped together.”
New Music
Gah, the punk scene has been very stagnant lately. So I’ve had to go elsewhere for my new music fix. Just snagged a copy of 311’s “Don’t Tread on Me”. So far, it’s a great album with a lot of potential. Very mellow and very clean with great melodies.
A friend gave me a copy of Ted Leo & the Pharmacists’ “Shake the Sheets”, which is just exceptional. I was very pleased with their sound and vocals. All the songs just have a great unique sound that is very upbeat and happy.
Another album I’ve been toying with is Gorillaz’s “Demon Days”. A great chill out album, which are great for work and sleep. I need to listen to it more before I can pass judgement, but I do like it thusfar.
Duke Must Be Embarrassed
That game was brutal for Duke. They managed to remain scoreless, despite our best efforts. Vick played a great game and Beamer managed to put in some new guys and some second stringers.
The final score was 45-0.
