Life is Simple

with one comment

First thing I read out of a new book (albeit, its a quote):

What you see, you shall never find.
For when the Gods made man,
They kept immortality for themselves.
Fill your belly.
Day and night make merry,
Let Days be full of joy.
Love the child that holds your hand.
Let your wife delight in your embrace.
For these alone are the concerns of man.

Success!

without comments

Well, the semester finally ended and I ended up successful on my fronts.

My semester GPA was 3.75 and I bumped up my cumulative GPA to a 3.45, woohoo Dean’s List!

I managed to get a job for the summer, which should be fun and different. It promises a lot of variety and should be a good learning experience.

We also began moving into our new house. Which is overwhelming at the moment. It’s nice having a queen sized bed again, that twin in the apartment in Sparks was absolutely horrible. My room is pretty much finished except that I don’t quite have a closet, my dad and I have yet to install the closet organizer for my room.

I guess the only problem at the moment would be the distance between my girl and I. She’s always on my mind, regardless of what I’m doing. Summer shouldn’t be that long…

Hesitance

without comments

I was on the bus today riding home, and I noticed a guy and a girl got on the bus and they were talking. I noticed they both liked each other, it kinda brimmed from each of them smiling at each other. When they went to sit down, they chose opposing seats on the bus, near but not next to each other. The guy had a box on his lap and his hand on top, and the girl placed her hand on top of his. He left it there, but didn’t acknowledge her too much. Yet, I could tell he was still into her. When someone got up at a row of seats where they could sit next to each other she moved over and he followed. Yet, he made a slight mistake. Instead of sitting next to her, he chose to leave a seat between them. Looking at the situation I could tell she just wanted him to rest his hand in hers at it laid palm up, hand open on top of her leg.

I think every guy goes through this situation, where the girl is inviting you to do something, yet you hesitate because you are still unsure. Yet, she is following cultural norms and the guy isn’t. She is acting as the receiver and certainly not the instigator, because that could be taken as too aggressive of an advance and seem too open. I wanted to go up to him and tell him to just put his hand in hers, to shuffle over a seat, to stop fidgeting with his hands and stop staring at the box he was holding. You never know what might come from holding a hand.
