Wes’s Life

It’s no secret among my friends that I am the youngest in our year. While the major­ity of my friends are 21 and get­ting there, I still have around eleven months to go. That’s right I turn 21 midway through my last year of col­lege. It’s pretty frus­trat­ing I guess, mainly because I see no dif­fer­ence in matu­rity between us, just a law or two is in my way.

Make no mis­take, this is a col­lege town and it’s cer­tainly not dry. How­ever, it would be nice to be able to go into a bar with my friends and get a drink or two. Noth­ing crazy, more mun­dane and rou­tine.

When I first got this album I was pretty unin­ter­ested in any­thing but “Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is” (which is arguably one of the better songs). How­ever, some­times the mood strikes me to try again. So, I started to listen to the song again and was pleas­antly sur­prised by the qual­ity of the songs on this album. Sure, they have the cur­rent “Alter­na­tive” sound going on, but at the same time, some of the songs have very Beatle-​esque sounds, such as “Bring It On Back”. Grab it and give it another shot.

Shine On

I’m tired, tired of the uno­rig­i­nal­ity I’m seeing in every­thing. Every time I go to look at Life­hacker, I feel as if I have seen that small bit of news at least three times that day. And this isn’t just a Life­hacker thing, tons of blogs do this and they feel that some­where, some­how along the way there is some kind of value added. Well, no not really; sure, there’s usu­ally a new quip about this fancy new web­site, but in the end it’s a pic­ture or a logo and the link. This year I’m going to try to keep my con­tent as orig­i­nal as pos­si­ble. Plus I’m going to try and write, but who knows, it may not happen.
