On Any Given Sunday

Comments

So Friday was good and Saturday was as well, but Sunday took the cake. Most Sundays start out good, but kinda wane down as I start to think of Monday morning and the begrudgingly rudimentary routine. Not so much this Sunday.

My girlfriend and I decided to go to Gillie’s (a great vegetarian place here in Blacksburg, VA) for breakfast with her roommate and roommate’s boyfriend. After consuming way too much food, which included “Very Berry French Toast” and “Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Whole-Grain Pancakes” we had to go back to my place for my flour sifter because she was going to make Irish Soda Bread! And that was just the start.

She decided she wanted to make Corned Beef with potatoes, Irish Soda Bread and Apple Crisp for dinner. And let’s just say it was awesome. Now, I like corned beef alright, but this was just great; probably the best I’ve had.

So that was fine and dandy and we were sitting around watching TV when Payton started becoming uncomfortable and restless. At first we just kinda ignored it, but after a little bit we started to notice that she was ‘leaking’. And then without much warning, the first puppy started to come out.

Here is a list of all of the puppies in their birth order:

  1. Maddie - Female, Black with Brindle
  2. Tucker - Male, Bronze
  3. Annie - Female, Black with Brindle
  4. Ella - Female, Black with Brindle
  5. Bailey - Female, Light Brown
  6. Toby - Male, Black with Brindle
  7. Mikey - Male, Dark Brown
  8. Lucky - Male, Light Brown

I think Payton started giving birth around 10:30 and the last one was out around 1:10. So overall, she gave birth faster then the expected one every 30 minutes. Not that it was uniform. There was some serious gaps between a few of them and a few came out quickly. I believe Bailey was the one to come out within two minutes of the previous.

None of them had any birth defects and all of them are healthy and squeaking. Can’t wait to see them running around and playing.
