New Years Resolution Revisit
So, about halfway through the year, how’s are the resolutions going?
Well, there was a brief lapse in going to the gym, but for the most part I go three days a week. And lately I started taking the bike instead of driving — yay for not spending money and getting exercise all a once.
Eating healthier is going well mainly due to the fact that I no longer buy Doritos and when we do dessert we usually make it, which adds a hurdle.
The Amazon one…well I lasted the three months pretty well, and after that I’ve had ups and downs, oh well.
Changing Your Collegiate Status on Facebook
Some quick steps to change your status from student to alum on Facebook:
- Log in to Facebook
- Go to the account page (top right)
- Click on the Networks tab
- Click the Edit Info link
- Change your status from Student to Alumnus/Alumna and set your year
And if anyone didn’t know, I am now a full fledged graduate; no longer a student. Awesome. It was a great four years and I met tons of great people, had some great expereiences and met the love of my life.
New Years Resolutions
Well, I realize its kinda late for me to be getting around to New Years Resolutions, but why not?
First and foremost, I’m going to work out three times a week. This has already been happening, so it should be easy to keep going.
In correlation to the first, I’m going to eat healthier. I guess my biggest issue there is eating pasta.
The last one I can think of, I’m not going to buy anything on Amazon.com for myself for at least three months, hopefully longer. Any one who has met me knows that I have an unhealthy obsession with books, that needs to get nipped in the bud.
Portfolio
Well, I haven’t been doing too much worth mentioning lately. I went to the Cascades again, been running errands and going to class and work. The Hokie football season is under way and we’ve finally ditched Glennon as the starting quarterback.
However, I have done something worth mentioning. I created an online resume and portfolio. I’ve had the domain — mynameiswes.com — for a while now, but didn’t quite know what to do with it. With the career fair rolling around the corner here at Virginia Tech, I figured an online portfolio would be a good idea. So, I spent much of last Thursday working on it and hammering it out and here it is:
What’s Going On
Haven’t heard from me in a while, huh? Well, I’ve been a bit occupied helping my girlfriend move in. Yes, after five or so days I think I can say she’s completely moved. Granted, she’s not terribly well organized, but that’s what the semester is for, not classes.
I’ve also been attempting to become employed and it looks like I’m getting a few steps closer with a particular company. I’m pretty excited, as anyone close enough to me during this summer can tell you.
The grind of classes will start soon enough, and I hope that the effects of the shooting won’t be felt too much. I would prefer that people respect what happened, but go back to the way things were before it all happened.
Oh, and thank goodness for air conditioning. Temperatures in Blacksburg have been ridiculous over the past few days. Today it was 100° at some point. Frankly, it can stop that kind of crap any time now.
